Yayasan Kebajikan Atlet Kebangsaan

YAKEB – Yayasan Kebajikan Atlet Kebangsaan is an organisation dedicated to the welfare and wellbeing of Malaysia’s former national athletes. They play a crucial role in supporting Malaysia’s former athletes as they transition from their competitive careers into life beyond sports. Many former athletes face various challenges, including financial difficulties, health issues, and emotional adjustments. By supporting YAKEB, you directly impact the lives of these individuals by providing them with access to healthcare, financial aid, educational opportunities, and other essential services. Your contribution helps ensure that these national heroes receive the support they deserve as they navigate post-athletic life.

VIP and Spokesperson

We’re honoured to join us in celebrating BE THE HOPE and its cause, a panel of VIPs that range from ex-national athletes and SEA Games medalists.

Datuk Marina Chin

Among the lineup includes Datuk Marina Chin and Datuk Zaiton Othman – both of whom are former national athletes that thrived and brought Malaysia multiple wins in their day. Known as “Malaysia’s Sprint Queen”, Datuk Marina is a 6-time SEA Games gold medallist in a range of sprint events, including 100m, 200m and 4x400m.

Meanwhile, Datuk Zaiton herself got the title “Iron Lady” of Malaysian sports thanks to her strong performance in the heptathlon event, with 10 gold medals at SEA Games and Asian Veterans Meets. Today, both of them continue to contribute to Malaysia sports under the Ministry of Education and the National Sports Council.
